DESIGNED TO TEACH
From kids in after-school programs to adults learning a new language, I’ve had the privilege of designing and leading educational experiences for all ages. In each role, I developed custom material, from worksheets and PowerPoints to full curriculums. I design and led programs that were as thoughtful as they were fun. Whether focused on social-emotional learning, physical activity, or language acquisition, the goal was always to make learning feel empowering and accessible.

Spring River Mental Health Center
Building Confidence and Connections
At Spring River, I facilitated a psychosocial rehabilitation group. This is the technical way to say I led after-school and summer programs designed to teach kids important social and emotional skills. I created age-appropriate lesson plans, interactive worksheets, and activities that helped students navigate emotions, relationships, and conflict in healthy ways. I worked alongside of their treatment teams, educators, and families to help support them in the community, at home, and in the classroom. Over the years at Spring River, I worked with children from preschool through high school, often adjusting groups to meet the Center’s most pressing needs. Working with children across a wide age range taught me to adapt quickly and communicate with clarity and compassion. This role shaped me in ways I’ll carry forever. I learned how to meet people exactly where they are, to lead with love, and to show up with empathy and consistency. These lessons that continue to influence everything I do.

YMCA Before & After School Program
Where Learning Meets Play
During my time with the YMCA, I site coordinator for Heartland Elementary. In this role, I led before and after school programs, that focused on wellness, teamwork, and personal growth. I created materials and led programming that blended fun with intention, through movement games, themed activity days, and reflective exercises. These programs were all about helping kids stay active, build friendships, and have a blast in a safe and structured space.

Language, Belonging, and New Beginnings
In my current role as an adult ESL instructor, I develop beginner and intermediate curriculums that support real-world communication skills, from vocabulary and grammar to listening, reading, and conversation practice. I design engaging slides, worksheets, and group activities, always tailoring lessons to the diverse needs and life experiences of my students. It is a deeply rewarding experience that blended my love of language, culture, and human connection.
